A marriage license may be obtained Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., at the Clerk of Circuit Court’s Office in either the Okaloosa County Courthouse, 101 E. James Lee Blvd., Room 210; or Okaloosa County Courthouse Annex, 1940 Lewis Turner Blvd., Ft. Walton Beach, FL. A marriage license may be obtained at the Walton County Courthouse Annex, 31 Coastal Centre Boulevard, Santa Rosa Beach, FL. Call (850) 267-3066 for more information or visit the\u00a0Walton County Clerk of Court’s website<\/a>\u00a0for answer to frequently asked questions.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tIs there a waiting period for issuance of the license?\n\t\t\t\t

Yes. There is a 3-day waiting period provided by the state legislature effective Jan. 1, 1999, if either party is a Florida resident. Exceptions: Non-Florida residents with out-of-state driver’s license used as proof of identity require no waiting period. Florida residents who provide, upon making application, proof of completion of a 4-hour marriage preparation course provided by an instructor registered with Okaloosa County, FL, require no waiting period.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tDo you have to have a permit to be married on the beach?\n\t\t\t\t

The City of Destin does require a permit for all groups of 20 or more gathering or holding an event on city-owned property. For details, call the City of Destin Parks and Recreation Department at (850) 837-4242 or view the\u00a0City of Destin’s Public Event Information web page<\/a>.\u00a0Beach wedding permits are only available for The Shore at Crystal Beach Park and June White Decker Beach Park. Park Event Permits are not available for beach access points.<\/p>\n
